Religion And Freedom

Kamala B. Sarup

Do you see any evidence for a natural or supernatural world? However, if you don’t trust your eyes, augment them with the most powerful microscopes and search inside and outside the human body, as many people have done. These existing worlds, containing heavens, purgatories, gods, spirits, angels, saints, devils, witches, dragons, goblins, martians, leprechauns, etc., together with their activities, are exist in one place and one place only – the human mind and life. To think otherwise is a delusion.

Empowering Democracy: A Blueprint for Economic Development and Well-being in America

The core of economic development is promoting democracy and guaranteeing the welfare of Americans and workers. Problems like unemployment and poverty are unacceptable in a democratic society. Access to affordable healthcare, housing, and education, as well as support for small enterprises, are critical components of a nation's democratic process. Decisions that put economics ahead of democracy should be based on the truth and individual principles.

People across the United States are coming together in big cities to ask Israel and Hamas, a group in Palestine, to stop fighting. I joined this effort too. I'm suggesting that Israel and Palestine should stop fighting and try to find a way to end the wars without making things worse. To achieve long-lasting peace between the two countries, I think there should be two steps.

My Friend lived happily until she went through a divorce and unfortunately she was pregnant. Her husband had a relationship with another woman and hence my friend left her husband’s home and I invited her to stay at my home in Court House. Haunted by the divorce and her conditions, she was quite depressed and the doctor prescribed medicines like Cymbalta (duloxetine) and Alprazolam (Xanax) for her problems. Everything was going well until one day I found her in the living room unable to speak or even open her eyes.

The pursuit of amicable solutions holds promise in a society still grappling with the aftermath of conflict. Beyond endorsing peace talks globally, whether in the Middle East, Red Sea or between Russia and Ukraine, I advocate for a comprehensive strategy to restore peace. I implore all parties involved to collaborate and find a solution, recognizing the challenges posed by escalating military tensions with Russia, Ukraine and the Middle East.

Nepal: People In Search Of A Future

A desire for job, security and opportunity is sending many of Nepal's young people out of the county in search of better lives. "I feel secure. My son goes to school regularly and my husband has started to work," she said. "At least no one will come in the middle of the night and threaten us like in Nepal. At least our lives are not in danger here."

Nepal's troubled society

Author
Kamala Budhathoki 'Sarup'

Nepal's failure to recognize and treat social ills has created conditions that are not conducive to its electoral process and hamper the development of democracy. The ability of the people to make intelligent voting decisions is obstructed by their daily struggle for food and shelter. It is difficult for them to understand the virtues of democracy on a hungry stomach, and hard to make informed decisions based on a lack of education.
